Welcome to Dradishaw dragonfly club.

We can have 24 children aged 5-11 years, the staff ratio is 1:8 for this room.

We take down and collect children from Aireview school & nursery and Hothfield junior school.

Our Club is open from 7.30 am though a 7.00 am start is possible but bookings for earlier slots are required in advance.  Our dragonfly Club is a fun place to be after school where the children can play and try new activities in a safe and secure environment.

The children's favourite activities are fire play, wood play, earth play and water play. In a morning we have a breakfast bar available till 8.20 am for any child who wish to have breakfast, we have a choice of cereals, toast or crumpets with a selection of drinks available.

On the way to school the staff teach the children how to cross the road safely, the youngest hold hands with the staff members and the other children walk between the staff.

The children can choose from a range of activities, the ideas for activities are provided by the children.

We also have a Wii, tablets and a computer these are based on a rolling programme so all the children get a turn.

On an evening we collect at Aire view nursery (we also collect at dinner time), Aire view school and Hothfield school and we arrive back at the dragonfly club for 3.50 pm.

The children choose when they would like tea, and they serve themselves the amount that they would like. We understand that each child's appetite is different so this way they can choose the amount. We have a 4 week menu for example we have: Italian Pasta Bake, Sausage Roll and beans, Cheese and ham Toasties, Soup and rolls, Tuna Pasta Bake, Pizza and salad, Chicken and sweetcorn bake, chicken curry and rice, hot dogs, jacket potatoes with cheese/ tuna/ beans, risotto, Sandwiches, Chicken and vegetable Noodles. Fresh fruit is served to each table for the children to have after their main meal as well as pudding.

We find all our children are extremely hungry on their return from school so we make sure they are all well fed and have plenty of drinks. The staff are always monitoring the children's interests on this floor and set up activities around their interests e.g. our role play area is currently being turned into a school
